New evidence is coming to light about the femicide that occurred this morning in Volos, from the testimonies of the couple's four children to the police and local media.
The couple had four children, three girls aged 18, 16, 6 and a 13-year-old boy, all of whom witnessed the crime.
The police were informed of the crime when one of the couple's children called the Emergency Response Unit to ask for help, telling the officers that the father had stabbed the mother in cold blood at the entrance to the apartment building.
When the police arrived at the house, they found the mother lying dead, while her two daughters, ages 16 and 6, and her 13-year-old son stood next to her.
The children told the police that their parents had been arguing intensely since morning and that when their mother tried to leave the house, the man grabbed a sharp tool, chased her to the entrance of the apartment building and fatally wounded her.
Speaking to local media, the couple's eldest daughter said that the perpetrator was jealous of his wife and she had asked him to temporarily leave the house.
The 40-year-old is currently evading arrest and is being sought.
According to information, the man had attempted suicide at the end of June and had been hospitalized at the psychiatric clinic of the Volos General Hospital. He had previously been accused of drug cases.
