Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called, today, Sunday, for the establishment of an"Islamic military alliance," in conjunction with expectations of announcing the activation of the "Arab NATO" that Egypt proposed about 10 years ago, and which is expected to be announced during the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha today, Sunday, and tomorrow, Monday.
In statements to Al Jazeera, Al-Sudani said,"The Israeli aggression against Qatar is a shocking event and a violation of all international laws and norms." He considered the Israeli aggression a transgression against a sister country and a threat to the security of all countries in the region, and confirms the aggressive approach of the criminal Israeli government.
He called for"declaring a political, security, and economic alliance of Islamic countries," noting that "there is nothing preventing Islamic countries from forming an alliance in the form of a joint security force for defense."
He stressed that "the Arab and Islamic countries have many cards that can be used to confront the Israeli aggression, which will not stop at Qatar."
He considered that "the Israeli government has taken everything for granted, and what has been happening in Gaza for more than two years is systematic killing."
It is expected that Al-Sudani will arrive in Qatar within the next few hours to participate in the emergency Doha summit, which will be attended by Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate a"joint response" to the Israeli bombing of Qatar, as well as the expansion of its operations in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza, and the attempts to annex the West Bank, occupy Gaza and other operations that may threaten Iraq as well.
