International Reactions to Gaza Situation

Ongoing Conflict Updates

This is a man-made catastrophe and a failure of humanity itself. With these harsh words, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres officially confirmed the existence of mass starvation in the Gaza Strip. His strong emotional reaction was provoked by the latest report of the UN Integrated Food Security Phase Classification System - ICE. In 59 pages, the agency warns that half a million people in Gaza are facing hunger, misery and death.

The international organization's agencies emphasize the extreme urgency of providing immediate and large-scale humanitarian assistance given the increasing number of deaths from malnutrition.

Israel rejected the new results, calling them fake and distorted. Here is Israel's official response:

*Main message:*

The IPC published a"custom" fabricated report to serve Hamas's false campaign.

*Fabricated report and manipulation*

• The IPC distorted its own rules and ignored its own criteria to make false accusations against Israel.

• IPC changed its global standard, reducing the threshold from 30% to 15% for this report only.

• The IPC completely ignores its second criterion – mortality – to serve Hamas’s false campaign.

*Basis of the report*

• The entire IPC document is based on Hamas lies,"laundered" through organizations with vested interests.

*The reality on the ground in Gaza*

• There is no hunger in Gaza.

• Over 100,000 aid trucks have entered Gaza since the start of the war.

• A huge amount of aid has been delivered in recent weeks, flooding Gaza with basic food items and leading to a sharp drop in food prices.

• The laws of supply and demand prove reality – IPC does not.

*History of wrong predictions*

• Every IPC prediction regarding Gaza during the war proved to be baseless and false.

Israel has begun its first phases of Operation Gideon's Chariots II, which aims to occupy all of Gaza in order to completely destroy the Hamas terrorist group.

"Soon the gates of hell will open over the heads of the murderers and rapists of Hamas in Gaza - until they agree to our conditions for ending the war, including the release of all hostages. If this does not happen, Gaza City - the capital of Hamas - will be destroyed," Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened on Friday. Preparations are also underway to evacuate 1 million Gaza residents.
