The Court of Appeal in Casablanca sentenced Mohamed Boudrika, the former president of Raja Casablanca football club, to five years in prison.
The aforementioned chamber, in a ruling issued this Wednesday afternoon, upheld the initial ruling issued by the Ain Sebaa Criminal Court, which ordered the former president of the Mers Sultan district to pay a fine of more than 650,000 dirhams, in addition to prohibiting him from issuing checks for a year.
The public prosecutor's office in Casablanca pursued charges against the former parliamentarian for issuing checks without sufficient funds, fraud, forgery of a private document and its use, and unlawfully obtaining and using a certificate issued by the public administration.
Throughout the investigation, Boudrika denied the charges against him, asserting his innocence of the forgery charges he was being prosecuted for, and pointing out that no technical analysis had been conducted on the document in dispute.
It is worth noting that the German authorities arrested the person in question in July 2024 at Hamburg Airport, based on a notification issued by the European Police (Europol), in response to an international search warrant issued against him, before he was recently handed over to the Moroccan judicial authorities.
Mohamed Boudrika, the former president of Raja Casablanca, is facing prosecutions related to several charges of fraud, deception, and issuing checks without sufficient funds.
Boudrika was also dismissed from his position as head of the Mers Sultan district, which he headed after winning the municipal elections, due to his absence from performing his duties for several months.
