This Tuesday, September 2, the Global Forum on Migration was held in Riohacha, La Guajira, led by the Colombian Foreign Ministry.

In a lengthy statement, the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, issued an alert that caught the attention of those attending the international event.

The head of state stated at the lectern: "I hope an Israeli drone doesn't hit me there on the Bolívar Palace and wipe us out. But these are the consequences of defending an idea that is being massacred today (referring to the bombings in Gaza)."

"So I ask the people of Europe, white and all colors, because Europe is like us now and will be like us... There is no force in the world that can stop it; what we need is to rescue Aryan cultures and keep them alive, because they are part of our cultural history. But I ask the people of Europe to end anti-immigration laws because Europe will lose its life and its greatest wealth," Petro said.

Recently, the national government has taken more drastic measures against Israel, issuing a decree prohibiting the export of Colombian coal to that country. This decree was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and dated August 28, 2025.

"All exports of thermal coal (coal) classified under tariff subheading 2701.12.00.10 to the State of Israel are prohibited without exception," reads one section of the measure.

Furthermore, the decree adds: “It will remain in force until the provisional measures orders issued by the International Court of Justice in the proceedings on the Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel) are fully complied with or until the conditions that gave rise to them continue to exist.”

On the other hand, and returning to the event on the Global Forum on Migration, in that setting, President Petro launched a sharp barb at his United States counterpart, Donald Trump.
