The Chilean Geoscience Network began reporting sea level fluctuations or disturbances of between 15 and 40 centimeters in various locations in northern Chile.
At 3:20 PM, the Chilean Geoscience Network announced the first changes in the town of Tocopilla, where a 15-centimeter disturbance was recorded. The highest disturbance, reported at 5:00 PM, was 40 centimeters in the city of Chañaral, Atacama Region. This was followed by the city of Caldera in the same region, where a 30-centimeter disturbance was recorded. Variations were also detected in various locations in the regions of Antofagasta, Taracapá, Valparaíso, and Coquimbo.
