According to the Polish Prime Minister, the confession was made by Zelensky during the most recent conversation between the two officials.
"I have no doubt that Ukraine will survive as an independent state. Now the main question is how many victims we will have. President Zelenskyy told me (ed. – Thursday) that he hopes the war will not last ten years, but that Ukraine is ready to fight for another two, three years," Tusk told The Sunday Times.
Tusk added that the large-scale invasion launched by Russia is harmful to Russia's economy, but the internal destabilization would make Vladimir Putin become much more aggressive.
"The Russians are in a very difficult situation (ed. – economically). Does this mean that we can say that we are victorious? Not at all. They have a big advantage over the West, and especially over Europe: they are ready to fight," said Tusk.
Previously, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that no one should put pressure on Ukraine to cede territories to the Russian Federation.
"None of us should put pressure on Zelensky for territorial concessions. We should all put pressure on Russia to stop its aggression. Appeasement has never been a path to a just and lasting peace," Tusk said.
