Russian air strikes on Sunday destroyed a medicine warehouse, continuing their assault on Ukraine’s pharmaceutical supplies.

The attack on a facility belonging to BaDM, one of Ukraine’s two largest pharmaceutical distributors, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, caused as-yet unknown damage to the 60,000 square-meter (about 645,600 square-foot) warehouse.

This was the fourth such attack in about four months on Ukraine’s medicine supplies.

Last month, Russian strikes targeted a facility belonging to Optima-Pharm, the country’s second largest medicine distributor. The warehouse was completely destroyed but none of the staff were injured.

In October, Moscow’s forces shelled an Optima-Pharm building in Kyiv. That attack followed

a Russian missile attack in August on one of the company’s warehouses. In all, the attacks caused more than $100 million in damages and eliminated about one-fifth of Ukraine’s monthly supply of medicine.

At the start of the full-scale invasion, Moscow’s forces also destroyed BaDM logistics complexes in the Kyiv and Poltava regions, destroying more than $118 million worth of medicine, and completely obliterating one of the centers.

The company released a statement shortly after Sunday’s attack, saying that BaDM is effecting changes within its logistics model and said it is making efforts to minimize the impact on the availability of medicine, including supplies to the most remote towns and frontline settlements.

“The company understands its role in supporting the healthcare system and continues to follow its mission — caring for the nation’s health by guaranteeing the supply of high-quality medicines,” the statement reads.
