US President Donald Trump emphasizes that security guarantees for Ukraine in the event of a cessation of hostilities will primarily be Europe's responsibility, but the United States will also participate to some extent.

"Europe will provide them (Ukraine - ed.) with significant security guarantees, and they (Europeans - ed.) should do it, because they are right there. But we will be there as a backup," Trump said."We will help them. I think if we reach an agreement - and I think we will - then there will be practically no problems."

Trump reiterated his desire to end the war."I want people to stop being killed," he said.

However, he again criticized the previous administration, which allegedly gave Ukraine $350 billion, and called President Volodymyr Zelensky"the best salesman," although Trump himself had previously denied this amount.

The US president also indicated that his administration had radically changed its approach.

"We are no longer paying any money to Ukraine. In fact, it is the opposite - they ask through NATO. NATO asks for missiles or Patriots, we transfer the missiles to NATO, and NATO pays us the full amount," he said.
