Fashion designer Giorgio Armani, one of the world's most renowned stylists, died this Thursday at the age of 91. The information was reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera and has since been confirmed by the fashion company Armani.
The company he created in 1975 became one of the biggest names in global fashion, through clothing and accessories.
The company's influence then expanded into other areas, from perfumery (with the Acqua di Gio brand) to the world of cinema, having been the clothing brand of choice for high-profile films (such as Ocean's 13 and The Dark Knight).
According to the Bloomberg Millionaires Index, Giorgio Armani's personal fortune is estimated at $9.43 billion, or around €8 billion.
The company named after the Italian businessman, Giorgio Armani, based in Milan, had revenues of 2.3 billion euros in 2024.
Giorgio Armani was born on July 11, 1934, in the city of Piacenza, in northern Italy.
