The Turkish basketball team, led by Alperen Şengin, had not lost in Riga in either the group stage or the play-off tournament until Friday. They defeated Sweden 85:79 in the round of 16 and Poland 91:77 in the quarter-finals.
On Thursday, Osman, the second-highest scoring player for the Turkish national basketball team at the tournament in Riga, missed practice due to injury, but took the court in the starting five.
The Greek basketball team became champions in 1987 on home soil and in 2005, when the tournament was held in Serbia and Montenegro. The Turks have been in the top four twice - in 1949 in Egypt, taking fourth place, and in 2001 at home, winning silver medals.
It has already been reported that Germany defeated Finland 98:86 in the first semi-final on Friday.
The final and the third place match will take place on Sunday.
The Latvian national team finished the European Championship in 12th place after losing in the round of 16.
The European Championship final tournament featured 24 teams divided into four groups in Riga, Tampere, Katowice and Limassol. The top four teams from each group qualified for the play-off tournament in Riga, where the medal winners will be determined on Sunday.
