All Haifa refineries shut down after Iranian attack

Monday, June 16

The Israeli Bazan Group, based in Haifa in northern Israel, announced the closure of all its refining facilities after a power plant used for generating electricity was severely damaged in an Iranian attack.

The group said in a statement to regulatory authorities that the Iranian attack resulted in the deaths of three of its employees.

An Israeli official confirmed, after the lifting of military censorship, that among the Israelis killed in the Iranian attacks, three were killed in the targeting of an oil refinery in the city of Haifa.

The official confirmed information circulated by Israeli media about the three men's deaths, without providing further details.

On Friday, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, which it said targeted nuclear and military facilities. Iran responded with missile strikes on Israel, targeting major cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa.
