"Royal Thai Army" reveals "Cambodian soldiers"  have invaded Thai sovereignty, ambushed and secretly laid mines, violating the agreement once again. Most recently, 3 more PMN-2 mines were found to have been laid.

On August 23, 2025, reporters reported that the Royal Thai Army received a report from the Second Army Area regarding Cambodian military operations in Thai sovereignty. On August 22, at 4:00 PM, military units in the area detected two or three Cambodian soldiers. Based on their attire, they were suspected to be part of the BHQ unit, conducting an ambush and reconnaissance operation against the Thai forces. The area was west of Hill 350, Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, approximately 100 meters from the operational line entering Thai sovereignty.

The unit then fired to drive them away until the Cambodian forces fled. Once the area was safe, the unit inspected the area and discovered one PMN-2 mine near the location where the Cambodian soldiers had been lying in ambush. The unit then inspected the area in detail and marked it, awaiting support from the mine-scanning unit for further action.

Later, on August 23, from another inspection of the surrounding area by the bomb disposal team, they found two more PMN-2 mines (for a total of three mines) along with two grenade launcher shells and a large number of sailboat nails.

Army spokesman Major General Winthai Suvari said the incident once again clearly demonstrates Cambodia's violation of the ceasefire agreement reached at the recent GBC meeting, including provocations, territorial incursions, and the use of landmines to attack the Thai side. This action contradicts Cambodia's attempts to distort the Thai position to the international community, suggesting Thailand is aggressing.

Despite the fact that the evidence found confirms that Cambodia has consistently committed acts of aggression and violated agreements, including the Ottawa Convention, the Royal Thai Army will submit all evidence to the IOT team to inform them of Cambodia's behavior and warn all units along the border to closely monitor Cambodia's ceasefire violations.
