President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that security guarantees for Ukraine, work on which is currently underway, should be like NATO's Article 5, and also include, among other things, funding for the Ukrainian army.

The head of state announced this during a joint conversation with journalists with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

These should be guarantees like article 5, that is, like the fifth article of the NATO Treaty, and these are really effective security guarantees. This is exactly the result we need to achieve, - Zelenskyy said.

He also emphasized that the issue of security guarantees is also an issue of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, namely the size and quality of the Ukrainian army that will protect Ukraine.

In many ways, all this is based on our interaction with partners, on our interaction with NATO, which has already been achieved. The Ukrainian army in general, our defense and security infrastructure are very seriously integrated into the Alliance system. There is a lot of bilateral cooperation with Alliance members. And we will definitely continue all practical levels of our cooperation with NATO, - Zelenskyy stressed.

As reported, earlier, during a conversation with journalists, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that an understanding of the architecture of security guarantees for Ukraine would be presented within 7–10 days.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has confirmed to European colleagues that Washington will participate in post-war security guarantees for Ukraine, but Donald Trump's administration believes that Europe should take the lead in this.
