Focus of Discussions at the 2025 APEC Summit

The 2025 APEC Summit carries the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper” under the chairmanship of the Republic of Korea.

This theme reflects the shared commitment of APEC members to create a sustainable future for future generations.

The forum highlights three key priorities: connectivity, innovation, and well-being.

Discussions will focus on trade and investment facilitation, people-to-people connections, the digital transition and green economy, strengthening MSMEs and vulnerable groups, and demographic issues.

At the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM), President Prabowo is scheduled to speak about strengthening economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

Indonesia's Strategic Role in APEC

President Prabowo's presence at the 2025 APEC Summit has strategic significance, considering that APEC covers around 60 percent of the world's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 36 percent of the global population.

Indonesia's active participation in APEC provides an opportunity to strengthen its role in building a sustainable and balanced future for the region.

Indonesia is expected to be able to bridge the interests between member countries, while ensuring that the results of APEC cooperation have a direct impact on society, business actors, and the world of work.

Also accompanying President Prabowo on his trip from Jakarta to South Korea was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
