Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said on Friday that Tel Aviv is"determined that Iran does not become a nuclear state like North Korea."
"They (the Iranians) will not possess nuclear weapons," Sa'ar added via the X platform, following a phone call with his Japanese counterpart, Takeshi Iwa, according to Al-Sharq News Channel.
Earlier, US intelligence officials reported that Iran had not yet made a decision on producing a nuclear bomb, but that this option might become more likely if the Fordow nuclear facility were attacked or if Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei were assassinated.
According to a report by the New York Times, US intelligence officials believe Iran already possesses a large stockpile of uranium enriched enough to make a bomb, but has not made a decision to proceed with the development of a weapon.
Since dawn last Friday, Israel has been launching airstrikes against targets in Iran, including nuclear and military facilities. Tehran has responded by launching waves of missiles and drones at Israel.
