This was Swiontek's sixth Grand Slam final and sixth title. She had never made it past the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, but now the only Grand Slam tournament she has not won is the Australian Open.
Former world number one Swiatek will climb to third place on Monday, while Anysmova, who is playing in a Grand Slam final for the first time, will reach a record-high seventh place.
So far in the Open era, only the 1988 French Open final ended with a score of 6-0, 6-0, when German Steffi Graf defeated Natasha Zverev.
