NATO Summit and Related Issues

US President Donald Trump was dissatisfied with both Israel and Iran after the ceasefire violations.

– No one will be harmed, the ceasefire applies, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

But a few minutes later, Israeli military radio reported an attack on a radar installation in Tehran. Iranian media reported that two explosions were heard in the city.

Now Israeli authorities say they are refraining from further attacks, following a conversation between President Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump, Reuters reports.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian promises that they too will respect the ceasefire, as long as Israel does so.

The US president first announced a ceasefire between the countries on Tuesday morning. But then new attacks from both sides created confusion.

– We have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard, they don't know what the hell they're doing, Trump said before leaving for the NATO summit in The Hague earlier Tuesday.

Don't drop those bombs.

Earlier Tuesday, both Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian authorities confirmed that they had accepted a ceasefire proposal from Trump.

But just two hours after it came into effect, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) warned that rockets were heading towards Israel.

Then Israel's defense minister ordered heavy strikes against Tehran in response to what he said was an Iranian violation of the ceasefire. Iran, for its part, denied that it had violated the agreement.

Israel, don't drop those bombs, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Achieved the goals

According to Trump, the United States has achieved its goals: destroying Iran's nuclear program and missile capabilities. That was part of the reason for the ceasefire.

Less than an hour before the ceasefire was due to start, Israeli media reported that four people had been killed in Beer Sheva in southern Israel after an Iranian rocket attack.

Earlier that morning, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had recorded four rocket attacks on Israel from Iran.

Iran reported nine deaths, according to Reuters.

Iranian state TV says an Iranian nuclear scientist was killed just before the ceasefire last night.

Earlier in the night, Israel attacked targets in Tehran. Explosions were reported, but no details were available in the morning hours.

American proposal

The ceasefire between the countries was world news Tuesday morning Norwegian time.

A source familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance discussed the ceasefire proposal with Qatar's leader, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

This is said to have happened after the Iranian attack on a US base in Qatar on Monday.

Trump said that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire. Qatar helped get Iran to do the same.
