One of the suspected attackers has been identified as Navid Akram, a student from Sydney

One of the terrorists who carried out the armed attack at the Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach is believed to be Navid Akram, 24, a student from Bonnyrig, a suburb of Sydney, whose house was searched after the attack. NSW Police said a 50-year-old man died at the scene after being shot by police officers during the shooting. The second attacker, a 24-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital under police escort.

New South Wales Police Commissioner Mel Lanyan told reporters that the investigation into the shootingwas"advancing" overnight and confirmed that police were not looking for an additional attacker.

He also stated that the two attackers were a father and son, aged 50 and 24.

He confirmed that a 50-year-old man died on the spot, while a 24-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

One of the suspects has been identified as Navid Akram

The driver's license of one of the suspects was found at the scene, and according to he was born on August 12, 2001.

According to his Facebook page, he studied at Central Queensland University in Sydney and at Hamdard University in Islamabad. He also attended the Al Murad Institute, where he was described as an exemplary student.

According to the media, nothing on his profile on social networks indicated his religious or political beliefs.

Police New South Wales have not yet officially confirmed this information.

It was also confirmed late on Sunday evening that a number of suspicious items, including an improvised explosive device, were found near the incident.

However, information on social networks and photos of the suspect holding a rifle reportedly surfaced.

Also, gruesome footage of the shooting released by"Sky News" shows Navid Akram, using a Ruger sporting rifle with a reflector sight, and the elderly attacker using a semi-automatic shotgun, also with a reflector sight.

Weapons experts have analyzed the means used in the deadly attack in Bondi. According to their knowledge, the younger assailant was using a sports rifle brand Ruger with a red dot sight.

The elderly assailant appears to have been armed with a semi-automatic shotgun, also equipped with the same type of scope. A third weapon, which has not yet been identified, was used in the attack, writes Sky News.

The sporting rifle used by one of the attackers is more suitable for shooting at longer distances, and experts noticed that the sight on it was not adjusted.

Based on the available footage, it is estimated that the suspects were trained, but not highly trained.
