
A "Peace Summit" will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, with the participation of many leaders, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump, to finalize the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
A report published on"Al-Qahera News", an affiliate of Egypt state television, stated that security and logistical preparations for the Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh are continuing in the city.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Presidency, the summit will be held in the afternoon at the city's conference center under the name"Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit."
The summit aims to "end the war in the Gaza Strip, strengthen efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, and open a new page for regional security and stability."
More than 20 leaders from different countries, including President Erdoğan, French President Emmanuel Macron, King Abdullah II of Jordan, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, will attend the summit, which will be chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Trump.
A report published in Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency claimed that no Iranian officials would attend the summit.
According to Qatari and US media, there will also be participation from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, but the level of participation has not been specified.
While the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that there would be no Israeli participation in the summit, the Palestinian administration did not make a statement regarding its participation in the summit.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and European Union Council President Antonio Costa will also attend the summit.
- CEASE-FIRE AGREEMENT REACHED IN GAZA
US President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan in Gaza during ongoing negotiations in Egypt.
While the agreement was signed in Egypt, where the negotiations were held, the agreement came into effect on October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.
Following the Israeli army's withdrawal from the"yellow line" as specified in the agreement, it was announced that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect at 12:00 on the same day.

Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced on his social media account that President Erdoğan will attend the"Sharm el-Sheikh Summit for Peace" tomorrow.
Duran stated the following in his statement:
Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will visit Sharm el-Sheikh on October 13, 2025, upon the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and US President Donald Trump, to participate in the"Sharm el-Sheikh for Peace Summit" to be held regarding the ceasefire agreement reached in Gaza.
Our President is planned to address the Summit and also hold consultations with the leaders of the participating countries.
