HungaroMet has issued a second-level warning for thunderstorms for a significant part of the country. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by stormy wind gusts (60-70 kilometers per hour), hail (typically less than 2 centimeters) and significant precipitation (20-30 millimeters, locally more than 30 millimeters). In severe thunderstorms, strong stormy wind gusts (above 90-100 kilometers per hour, even above 110 kilometers per hour), large ice (2-4 centimeters, in some places more than 4-5 centimeters) and cloudbursts (more than 30 millimeters, in some places more than 50 millimeters) may also occur.
Repeated thunderstorms with downpours (typically over 30 millimeters, in places over 50 millimeters), hail (1-2 centimeters) and gusty winds (60-80 kilometers per hour) are expected in several places on Sunday. Damaging wind gusts (over 90 kilometers per hour) and larger hail (over 2 centimeters) are also possible in the east-northeast border region.
The disaster management department recommends safety measures: before strong winds, move objects indoors, turn off the power to endangered rooms, and drive carefully near trees and wires. During thunderstorms, you should avoid lookouts, electricity poles, standing under trees, and using umbrellas. In forests, you should stay at least 4-5 meters away from tree trunks.
Temperature conditions: on Saturday, the average daily temperature is expected to be between 25 and 29 degrees, except in the northwestern parts, and above 29 degrees in the southeast, the heat will end by Sunday.
