Following the issuance of a search warrant for former President Jair Bolsonaro, the Washington administration imposed visa restrictions against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, his family, and other justice system officials involved in the case.

According to a message published on social media by Messias, Attorney General Paulo Gonet is also targeted by these bans and added,"No improper maneuver or sordid conspiratorial act will intimidate the justice system of our country in the independent and dignified exercise of its mission."

According to the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, along with Moraes, seven other Supreme Court judges, Luis Roberto Barroso, Dias Toffoli, Cristiano Zanin, Flavio Dino, Carmen Lucia, Edson Fachin and Gilmar Mendes, were included on the visa ban list.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has denounced Bolsonaro's trial as a"witch hunt" and last week announced a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods, starting August 1.
