A senior Iranian official told Reuters news agency that Tehran had accepted the ceasefire.
Reuters adds that this was proposed by the US and mediated by Qatar.
An official briefed on the negotiations also told Reuters that Trump and his vice president, JD Vance, discussed the plan with Qatar after Iran's attack on a US base this evening.
He added that Trump told Qatar that Israel had accepted the plan and that he needed Doha's help to convince Iran.
