"Hungary supports Ukraine with electricity and fuel, in return they bomb the oil pipeline that supplies us. A very unfriendly move," Orbán complains in his letter to Trump.

Hungary and Slovakia also called on Brussels to intervene in Ukraine's attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline, warning in a letter sent on Friday that supplies could be cut off for five days.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó called the Ukrainian attack an attempt to drag Hungary into war in a post on social media. He noted that oil supplies to Hungary have been halted again.

"This is another attack on our country's energy security. Another attempt to drag us into war. This will not happen! We will continue to support peace efforts with all our might and defend our national interests!" said the Hungarian Foreign Minister.

"Brussels needs to understand that it is the European Commission, not the Ukrainian Commission," Szijjártó added.

Hungary and Slovakia are currently ruled by governments that are friendly to Moscow and regularly obstruct sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine.

The strike was carried out in the Bryansk region of Russia.

Drones hit the Unecha oil pumping station, which Ukrainian forces attacked on the night of August 13.
