Yesterday, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) confirmed the formation of tropical cyclone Erick, near the coasts of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Chiapas.
This is not the first hydrometeorological phenomenon to form off the Mexican coast; however, it would be the first with a risk of making landfall, and its evolution has been greater than previous ones, as the SMN has not ruled out the possibility that it could intensify into a Category 5 hurricane.
Likewise, the National Water Commission ( Conagua ) reported that this tropical cyclone would be touching Mexican land starting today Wednesday night, or tomorrow, Thursday, in the early hours.

Here at MILENIO you can follow the official reports on its trajectory, the impacts it will cause and everything you need to know about tropical storm Erick.
