Washington. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt reiterated that the Trump administration considers Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro “an illegitimate leader, leading a regime involved in drug trafficking to the United States” and warned that Washington “will not tolerate it any longer.”
When questioned about whether Trump is planning action to"end the dictatorship in Venezuela and remove Nicolás Maduro from power," the spokesperson accused the Maduro regime of trafficking drugs for too long, without evidence.
“Maduro leads an illegitimate regime that has been trafficking drugs into the United States for too long, and we will not tolerate it,” Leavitt told reporters outside the White House on Thursday.
