Elections in the Republika Srpska were held today, and citizens are electing a new president. SNSD announced the victory of Siniša Karan, after which Dodik also spoke, and then the SNSD candidate himself. However, the opposing party SDS does not recognize Karan's victory.

Željka Cvijanović spoke up

Željka Cvijanović, a Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, announced on the X network after Dodik declared Sinisa Karan's victory.

"A great victory for the Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan and our political family led by Milorad Dodik! In the abnormal conditions of brutal foreign interventionism, political and judicial persecution and blatant destruction of the will of the people, we managed to ensure political stability and the continuity of our state-building policy. Let's move on. New political battles and, I'm sure, new victories for the Republika Srpska are ahead of us," she wrote.

Opponent Blanuša Karan from the SDS, Branko Blanuša, won 188,010, or 47.81 percent, in this sample.

SDS: We do not recognize the victory of Karan

He said at the election headquarters tonight that the results that SDS has at its disposal say something else.

"We do not recognize their victory. The election results show something else," Radulović said and announced that he would seek a repeat of the elections in Laktas, Zvornik and Doboj.

He said that the difference is several hundred votes and that we should wait for the results of the mobile teams and votes from abroad. He stated that it is frivolous to declare victory, and that according to their data, SDS candidate Branko Blanuša is ahead.

"Tonight is a special evening. This is the beginning of the end of Milorad Dodik and the SNSD. We saw sad faces behind Dodik," said Radulović and added that these elections do not end tonight but when the elections are repeated in Laktaši, Doboj and Zvornik.

He stated that they have evidence that records were changed in Zvornik but also in Doboj.

"We will not accept that and we will demand that the right electoral situation be determined," said Radulović.

- And that is without a result in Doboj, in which we also expect victory. We looked at the SDS conference, we see that they are again selectively choosing local communities where they have a positive result. Don't do that, this is some scenario they arranged with Schmidt. They only advertise the few positive results they have. Then when we announce the victory, they will again say that they were stolen. In Zvornik at 70 percent of the polling stations, about 6,000 votes, in Laktaši 4,650 - says Kovačević.

SDS announced:"We have an advantage of 17,000"

Member of the Presidency of the SDS and delegate to the House of Peoples of the PSBiH Želimir Nešković held a second media conference, where he said that opposition candidate Branko Blanuša has a big advantage.

- In 11 local communities Blanuša has an advantage of 17,000 votes - Nešković said.

He added that Blanuš leads in Banja Luka, Teslić, Prnjavor, Lopara, Ugljevik.

- Only a miracle that could distort this picture - said Nešković, emphasizing that there is a very small difference in Bosanska Gradiška, Doboj in favor of Sinisa Karan.

Speaking about Banja Luka, Nešković said that at about 50 percent of the votes counted, Blanuš has an advantage of about 6,000 votes, while in Bijeljina that advantage is over 3,000 votes.

Spokesman of the SNSD: We will announce the victory soon

SNSD spokesman Radovan Kovačević said after the closing of the polling stations in Republika Srpska that he thanks everyone for understanding the situation and voting, and claims that his party is leading in the extraordinary elections.

- These were elections that the RS did not want, I believe that we will soon be able to declare victory. It will go much faster than when we have multiple levels of government. In 2022, the citizens of RS gave a four-year mandate to Milorad Dodik. By the will of Šmit, Sarajevo, and not the people of the RS, Dodik is no longer the president, we defended the right for the people of the RS to choose their president - said Kovačević.

He added that the campaign by the SNSD was fair and correct, and that"one foreigner stole the will of the people of RS with the support of Sarajevo and the opposition from RS".

- The opposition led an extremely negative campaign, in order not to miss the opportunity that Schmidt gave them, I believe that is behind us. I want to thank all SNSD partners and activists for this campaign. The silence was broken more than once, applications for Đorđe Miličević, Ognjen Bodiroga, Jelena Trivić were filed, this shows how afraid they are. At about 5 percent, we have 5,060 votes, and Blanuša 3,557. Dodik will have the opportunity to declare victory in an hour, an hour and a half - he concluded.
