The source indicated that despite several phone calls with Trump and several meetings with US special representative Steve Witkoff, Putin believes that no one has seriously discussed the details of the peace treaty with him.

Sources also revealed that Putin's conditions for peace in Ukraine include a commitment by NATO not to expand eastward, Ukraine's neutrality, containment of its army, protection of Russian speakers living in Ukraine, and recognition of Russia's territorial gains.

Putin is also reportedly ready to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, involving major powers, although it is unclear how this could happen, the sources said.

Meanwhile, another source indicated that the dictator believes Russia's goals in the war with Ukraine are much more important than the potential economic losses that Western pressure could cause, which is why he is not concerned by the US threat to impose tariffs on China and India.

Both sources also cited other arguments that encourage Russia to continue the war. These include its achievements on the battlefield and its ammunition production, which is said to be superior to that of NATO countries.
