According to Spanish media, 25 people were injured, five seriously, in an explosion at a cafe in the Spanish capital Madrid on Saturday. The detonation occurred in the southeastern district of Vallecas in the afternoon. The fire department announced that the cause was likely the ignition of escaping gas.

The Spanish capital's civil defense agency published several photos of the accident scene on the platform X. They showed the largely destroyed interior of the bar and doors blown out of their frames. An apartment above the bar was also damaged, Spanish media reported.
