International Involvement in Aid Efforts

The international road in North Sinai linking Arish and the Rafah land crossing witnessed significant traffic as aid trucks arrived from the logistical waiting areas near Arish International Airport under the supervision of the Egyptian Red Crescent.

This Sunday morning, 129 trucks carrying humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip entered the Strip via the Rafah border crossing. This comes after a halt in truck entry since March 18 due to the collapse of the truce, the Israeli occupation forces' aggression against Palestinians at the crossing, and the destruction of its facilities.

A source at the Rafah border crossing confirmed that 129 trucks loaded with food, medicine, medical supplies, basic necessities, water pipes, and water tanks entered Gaza on Sunday. The trucks were from several organizations, including 54 trucks from the UN, 50 trucks from the Egyptian Red Crescent, and 25 trucks from the UAE.

The trucks passed successively through gates adjacent to the Rafah border crossing and headed south to the Kerem Shalom crossing for unloading before being delivered to relief agencies in the Gaza Strip.

Aid truck drivers sounded their horns, expressing their joy at being able to move after nearly four months of waiting, as they headed toward the Rafah land crossing.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Red Crescent's North Sinai branch deployed volunteer teams to the crossing and logistics warehouse areas to complete assigned tasks, including identifying truck data, identifying aid items, and verifying validity and transport routes.
