
Heavy rains swept through parts of the UAE on Saturday, July 26, offering residents much-needed respite from the searing summer heat.
UAE rain chasers shared videos of rain and thunderstorms in the garden city of Al Ain and Khatm Al Shiklah, the border crossing point between the UAE and Oman.
In the videos shared by Storm Centre, heavy rain can be seen pelting down in Al Ain and Khatm Al Shiklah, accompanied by strong gusts of wind. In one video, overcast grey skies are followed by a heavy downpour.
Authorities have advised residents to be cautious due to the adverse weather conditions currently affecting the country.
Authorities in Abu Dhabi issued multiple advisories, urging the public to avoid valleys. They also urged motorists to exercise caution while driving and adhere to the modified speed limits that are in effect due to the weather conditions.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the country's met department issued orange and yellow alerts for convective clouds formation associated with rainfall in Al Ain and surrounding areas.

The orange alert was issued for dust or sand, wind, thunder rain, from 2.35pm till 6.35pm.
The yellow alert was issued for convective cloud formation with rainfall and fresh to strong winds, causing blowing dust and sand, from 1pm till 9pm.
The highest temperature recorded in the country was 49.9°C in Sweihan in Al Ain at 2.45pm.
