Four police rifle battalion fighters were killed in fighting in eastern Ukraine on August 22.

On August 22, police special forces officers heroically died while performing a combat mission in eastern Ukraine:

Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Solovyanchyk, Senior Inspector of the Special Operations Department of the Special Purpose Police Battalion (Rifle) of the Main Police Department in Ivano-Frankivsk Region;

Police Captain Ihor Martyniuk, Senior Inspector of the Tactical and Special Training Department of the Special Purpose Police Battalion (Rifle) of the Main Police Department in Ivano-Frankivsk Region;

Police Captain Mykhailo Seiko, Inspector of Platoon No. 1 of the Special Purpose Police Battalion (Rifle) of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zhytomyr Region.

The police noted that over more than 20 years, Yuriy Berla went from an operational criminal investigation officer to a platoon commander of a special battalion. Colleagues knew him as a responsible leader, a fair mentor, a reliable comrade and a man with a big heart. Together with his comrades, the police lieutenant colonel courageously held the defense in the Donetsk direction, protecting his native land from the enemy. He is forever 44.

Oleksandr Solovyanchyk has served in the National Police of Ukraine since 2015. He was an investigator and an operations officer in various police units.

Oleksandr's colleague - Ihor Martyniuk, is a special forces officer. He has saved dozens of lives, because the fighter has repeatedly participated in the ATO since 2014. The policemen served in the special forces battalion (rifle) for more than a year. They are real officers, distinguished by extraordinary strength of spirit and perseverance. They were devoted to their cause, faithful to the Oath and true sons of their country.

Mykhailo Seiko joined the ranks of the Special Purpose Police Battalion (Rifle) of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zhytomyr Region in July 2024. He performed his duties and tasks with dignity, defending Ukraine from enemy invasion. He was faithful to the Oath until his last breath. He is forever 42.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 17, a soldier of the rifle battalion of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Cherkasy region, Oleksandr Rozdorozhny, was killed while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region.
