Russian attacks on western Ukraine also hit Mukachevo, which is located about 50 kilometers from Slovakia.
On Thursday night, Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities with up to 574 drones and 40 missiles, mainly in western Ukraine.
Air defenses destroyed 546 drones and 31 missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said, adding that it recorded hits by Russian missiles and drones in 11 locations. It did not provide details on the locations hit.
Lviv in western Ukraine was hit by a combined rocket attack overnight. In addition to one death, two people were injured and dozens of residential buildings were damaged in the city, local officials said.
Russian fire injured 12 people in the city of Mukachevo, located approximately 50 kilometers from the border with Slovakia.
"Five patients are hospitalized and one has been transferred to a regional hospital," the city council wrote on Facebook.
Moscow also attacked the city of Lutsk in the northwestern part of the country with drones and missiles. However, according to Mayor Igor Polishchuk, there were no injuries or damage.
Russia also struck the factory of an American electronics manufacturer in Mukachevo overnight, causing significant damage.
"This is a civilian facility that has nothing to do with defense or the military," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha wrote on X.
"This is not the first Russian attack on American businesses in Ukraine, following the attacks on Boeing offices in Kiev earlier this year and other attacks," he added.
