Earlier, a Ukrainian official stressed that Ukraine supports the substance of the proposed peace framework following talks with the United States in Geneva, but some of the plan's most sensitive issues remain to be discussed at the leadership level.
In particular, Rustem Umerov, head of the Security Council of Ukraine, reported that there is a common understanding between the United States and Ukraine on the main terms of the agreement discussed during previous talks in Geneva. He expressed the hope of scheduling a visit by Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States as soon as possible this month to finalize the agreement.
According to information, the general direction of the negotiations is considered acceptable by Kiev, while the points causing the greatest tensions are expected to be the subject of direct consultation between Zelensky and Trump.
Umerov said that Zelensky could travel to the United States in the coming days, with the aim of finalizing an agreement to end the war with Russia.
Umerov's post
We appreciate the productive and constructive meetings held in Geneva between the Ukrainian and American delegations, as well as President Trump's unwavering efforts to end the war.
Our delegations reached a common understanding on the basic terms of the agreement discussed in Geneva. We now count on the support of our European partners in our next steps.
We look forward to organizing the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States as soon as possible in November, in order to complete the final steps and reach an agreement with President Trump.
