Democratic Party: "President Lee's first visit successfully draws the blueprint for practical diplomacy"

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Ahn Jung-hoon = On the 18th, the Democratic Party of Korea evaluated President Lee Jae-myung's first overseas trip since his inauguration, saying,"It showed the international community that the Republic of Korea has returned."

Senior Spokesperson Park Sang-hyeok said in a written briefing that day,"President Lee Jae-myung has successfully completed his first summit diplomatic schedule in just two weeks since taking office and is on his way back home," adding,"The Republic of Korea has finally returned proudly to the world diplomatic stage."

He added that it was a "meaningful diplomatic event that showed that we overcame the December 3 civil war and firmly defended the democratic republic," and that it was "a stage that successfully laid the first blueprint for the pragmatic diplomacy that this president has emphasized, prioritizing national interests."

The president is returning home after a two-day visit to Canada to attend the G7 summit. During this visit, the president met with leaders from Japan, the UK, South Africa, Australia, and other countries.

Spokesperson Park said,"As we have taken the first step toward summit diplomacy, we will wisely resolve current issues together with the people," and "The Democratic Party of Korea will also firmly support President Lee Jae-myung to create a Republic of Korea that stands proudly in the world."
