The match started with an unexpected move by Rimas Kurtinaitis. Jonas Valančiūnas started the match from the bench, and Lauri Markkanen was defended by Margiris Normantas. The Finns led the entire half, but the Lithuanians recovered – 20:21.

The Lithuanians have many second chances and make good use of them, while the Finns missed more than one good shot, which allows the Lithuanian team to breathe easier – 45:36.

This match is of great importance. The winner will take a big step towards second place in the group, which would allow them to avoid the Turks and Serbs in the round of 16.

The Lithuanian national team started the European Championship with two consecutive victories – against Great Britain (94:70) and Montenegro (94:67). In the third group match, the Lithuanians had to admit the advantage of the Germans (88:107).
