French media reported that Prime Minister François Bayrou will submit his resignation to the president on Tuesday morning.
François Bayrou left the National Assembly and will submit his resignation to Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday morning.
François Bayrou told deputies that they had the"power to bring down the government," but not to "erase reality."
The Elysee Palace said in a statement that President Emmanuel Macron will consider appointing a new prime minister in the coming days, after Parliament voted to withdraw confidence from the current government.
The statement added:"Macron will receive Prime Minister François Bayrou tomorrow to accept his government's resignation. The President of the Republic will also appoint a new Prime Minister in the coming days."
The French government, led by François Bayrou, fell in a confidence vote with 364 votes in favor and 194 against, the President of the National Assembly announced.
