In a significant breakthrough, the red Ford EcoSport car linked to a suspect in the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort was found near Faridabad’s Khandawali village on Wednesday after a massive search operation.

The vehicle with the registration number of DL 10 CK 0458 was registered to Delhi blast suspect Dr Umar Un Nabi, also known as Umar Mohammad. It was found parked outside a house in the Khandawali village hours after police launched a massive search operation on Wednesday.

The location was approximately 12 km from the Al-Falah University, from where suspects, including doctors and clerics, have been arrested for alleged links to the Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

According to sources, the house where the car was found belonged to a friend of Umar. It was also found that Umar bought this car using a fake address. The vehicle has been cordoned at this point and expert teams have been called in to search the car.

Connection With Terror Module

In connection with the suspected suicide blast in the national capital, which has so far claimed 12 lives, sources told CNN-News18 that the discovery of a second vehicle points to a larger operational network and a layered escape plan.

According to top intelligence sources, the presence of both the Hyundai i20 and the red Ford EcoSport indicates a well-coordinated terror module. The vehicles were likely used to execute the blast and facilitate escape. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the probe, with Delhi Police and units in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh working together to identify the wider network.

The blast occurred on Monday evening near the historic Red Fort — one of the country’s most famous landmarks and the site of the Prime Minister’s annual Independence Day address — when a high-intensity explosive device detonated inside a slow-moving vehicle near the Red Fort traffic signal, killing 12 people and injuring several others.

Dr Umar Un Nabi, who worked as an Assistant Professor at the Al-Falah Medical College in Haryana’s Faridabad, is suspected to have been driving the car that exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening. His alleged role as the executioner of the attack places him among the most critical suspects in the ongoing probe.
