The Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) is expecting a new wave of precipitation with storms on Tuesday night.

"Yesterday's forecast was quite a failure in terms of weather variety and danger, as the formation of the secondary cyclone was slightly different than expected. As a result, the first bands of storms traveled slightly further south, and the events over western Slovenia did not justify the issued danger level (fortunately). After midnight, quite a few bands of storms formed, which - apart from heavy downpours - did not cause any major problems," wrote meteorologists from the Neurje portal.

The biggest problems can now be expected due to newly formed storm bands that will cross Slovenia several times during the day, especially in the band from western to central Slovenia. You can see the radar image of precipitation at this link.

So far, most of the precipitation has been in the western part of the country, where the weather will calm down and the sun will shine, explained Ars meteorologist on duty Andrej Velkavrh.

On Tuesday night, the Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) expects a new wave of precipitation with storms, which will move faster from the west to the east. On Tuesday afternoon, the storms will weaken and cease, and on Wednesday night, a band of precipitation will pass over part of Slovenia, but it will not be stormy, Velkavrh explained. The main cooling will occur today and Tuesday morning. From Wednesday onwards, it will be sunny, but occasional afternoon showers or storms are possible.

According to Velkavrh, the most precipitation has fallen in the southwest of the country, namely in the northern coastal part, towards the Soča River and in Notranjska. Meanwhile, there has been very little precipitation in the northeast and southeast, he explained.

During the night, the bulk of the storm activity remained in northwestern and central Slovenia, where a storm line formed several times, stretching from the Gulf of Trieste to the interior of the country. The highest precipitation fell by 5:30 a.m. at the stations Dolenje pri Ajdovščini, where 139 millimeters were recorded, Zadlog (93 millimeters), Vodice (87 millimeters) and Logatec (70 millimeters), Ars posted on the social network Facebook.
