Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a striking response to a reporter's question about whether Turkey might have a potential presence in Gaza during his meeting with US Vice President Vance. His facial expression and stuttering at the time became a hot topic. Here are the details...

US Vice President James David Vance continues his contacts in Israel. Vance was officially welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.

Following the welcome, the two enjoyed a meal together and then proceeded to meet. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement following the meeting, rejected the idea that Israel was"a slave to the United States."

‘WE HAVE AN ALLIANCE RELATIONSHIP’

"I want to say this very clearly. One week, it's said that Israel controls the US. The next week, it's said that the US controls Israel. This is complete nonsense. We have a partnership, an alliance, that shares common values and common goals. We may have our disagreements, we may have disagreements on some issues, but overall, I have to say that last year we agreed not only on the goals but also on how to achieve them," Netanyahu said.

‘OUR GOAL IS TO ISOLATE HAMAS’

Referring to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu said,"Israel's goal is to isolate Hamas from the Arab and Muslim world. I believe we have done this perfectly together with the US president's team."

Netanyahu emphasized their unprecedented partnership with the US, saying,"This partnership is changing the Middle East and the world. This creates opportunities not only for security but also for the spread of peace. We are working on this with great care."

‘IT WON’T BE EASY’

“I was impressed by your clarity, your sharpness, your support for our common cause, and your genuine friendship, both in conference calls and in private meetings,” Netanyahu told Vance.

“We are building an incredible future with a brand new vision,” said Benjamin Netanyahu, adding, “It will not be easy, but I think it is possible.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that they also discussed issues such as who will govern the Gaza Strip and who will provide security, saying,"Very, very good ideas have emerged."

When Netanyahu heard reporters ask whether there would be a possible Turkish presence in the Gaza Strip, his face changed and he stammered,"The decision on this matter will, of course, be made jointly with Israel. I have very clear views on this matter. You know what's going on, right?"

‘WE DO NOT WANT A SLAVE STATE’

US Vice President Vance said after the meeting,"We don't want a slave state, and Israel is not one. We want a partnership. We're looking for an ally here. The President believes that Israel, along with our Gulf Arab allies, can play a very positive leadership role in this region. This way, the US can become less involved in the Middle East because our allies in the region are stepping in, taking control, and taking ownership of their own regions."

‘WE MAKE THE DECISIONS’

Vance, emphasizing their commitment to what's happening in the region, said,"We see this as an opportunity to build on the Abraham Accords. I think this Gaza agreement is a critical piece in unlocking the Abraham Accords. But it could allow for a lasting, ongoing alliance structure in the Middle East that allows good people in the region to own their own gardens. That's in the interest of the United States, and I believe it's in Israel's interest as well. We make the decisions for Israel's security. But we make the joint decisions for our region, and I think that will serve both of us."

James David Vance emphasized the challenging task ahead, saying, “Our mission is to disarm Hamas, rebuild Gaza, improve the living conditions of the people there, and at the same time ensure that Hamas is no longer a threat to our friends in Israel.”

‘WE ARE ON AN EXTRAORDINARY PATH’

US Vice President Vance, stating that he had held very positive meetings with Israel and Arab countries, emphasized that these countries are"beginning to play a positive and constructive role" in the process. He said,"We are excited to be working together in these vitally important times. We are building a peace plan and infrastructure that didn't exist just a week ago. This won't be easy, but I think it's possible."

Vance emphasized the intensity of this process, saying,"We are on an extraordinary path to achieving something that has never been done before. If the Gaza plan is implemented correctly, it could become a model for peace agreements around the world."
