During a telephone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga discussed steps to increase political and sanctions pressure on Russia in order to achieve a just peace.

As Ukrinform reports, he announced this on the social network X.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry thanked his Canadian colleague for confirming his unwavering support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

We agreed on the importance of increasing political pressure and sanctions on Russia, using all available leverage to force Russia to agree to a ceasefire and start a genuine peace process,” Sibiga wrote.

He stressed that Russia's frozen assets must be fully used to make the aggressor pay the price for its war.

Sybiga also noted that Canada's participation in the Coalition of the Willing strengthens Ukraine's resilience and contributes to international efforts to ensure lasting peace.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 10, Szybiga and his Swedish counterpart Maria Malmer-Stenergard discussed the situation on the battlefield and efforts to strengthen Ukraine.
