Breakthrough in the investigations into the sexual assault on a 60-year-old woman at dawn last Sunday in the Tor Tre Teste park. The Carabinieri have tracked down the alleged attacker in the area of the Termini station : he is a 26-year-old of Gambian nationality, with no police record, with a residence permit: he entered Italy in 2016 and applied for international protection which was initially denied but was then accepted and the Rome Police Headquarters issued him a residence permit in 2024. The man was stopped by the military who for two days had been combing the streets near the railway station where the wanted man had headed after the rape with the cell phone of the victim, which was later turned off:"I was on drugs," he reportedly told the police.

The woman had been attacked at 6 a.m. while she was walking in the park.

Immediately afterward, the attacker fled with her cell phone, while the victim had returned home, where she raised the alarm along with her son and a neighbor. Before going to Termini station, the 26-year-old had gone to Quarticciolo, perhaps in an attempt to find someone who wanted to buy the stolen device.
