US President Donald Trump said he thought he could quickly end Russia's war in Ukraine. However, it turned out that it wasn't that simple, Unian quoted the US president as saying in an interview with WABC radio station 77.
The US president reiterated that he has supposedly managed to end seven wars since the start of his second term. In fact, he said some of them lasted more than 30 years.
Trump admitted that he previously thought he could easily resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict because he got along well with Vladimir Putin.
Trump admitted that just when he thinks peace is very close, the Kremlin leader launches an attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones.
I'm actually very surprised. I said this case would be resolved pretty quickly. But it's complicated, there's a lot of hatred between Putin and Zelensky, as you know, a lot of hostility, and a lot of blood has been shed
– said Trump. He added that “5-7 thousand people” are dying every week in the war launched by Russia against Ukraine.
