The Russian Federation confirmed that on the night of August 23, Ukrainian drones struck two railway infrastructure facilities in southern Russia in the Rostov and Volgograd regions, as a result of which the movement of almost 40 trains was delayed.

This was reported by The Moscow Times with reference to Russian Railways, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that in the Rostov region, for the second time in a week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Rossosh - Sokhranovka railway section.

According to Russian Railways, the Sergeyevka station was affected, where the contact network was disrupted.

As a result of the raid, the movement of 38 trains was delayed (up to 3 hours and 40 minutes), the report says.

According to Rostov Governor Yuriy Slyusary, Ukrainian UAVs were shot down in Chortkovsky (where Sokhranovka is located), Sholokhovsky, and Millerovsky districts.

"Due to the falling fragments of drones, fires broke out in several places, which were quickly extinguished. No one was injured," the head of the region wrote on the Telegram channel.

The Volgograd region was also reportedly hit. In the town of Petrov Val, a fire broke out near a jewelry store opposite the local train station as a result of the raid, local residents said.

According to them, windows in residential buildings were broken.

The Cheka-OGPU Telegram channel also reports on the attack on the station.

Petrov Val is a hub station of the Volga Railway with 18 tracks, on which the locomotive depot of the same name is located, the publication writes.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 29, the Russian Federation's logistical infrastructure, which provides support to the front, was attacked in the Rostov region.

On August 21, drones attacked the Navoshakhtinsky oil products plant in the Rostov regionof the Russian Federation, causing a fire at the facility.
