Trump's Broader Ukraine War Strategy and Patience with Putin

The penetration of Russian strike drones into Polish airspace was not accidental. At the same time, what the ultimate goal of the Russian invaders was with this attack should be asked to military experts, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski. In particular, he was asked whether he could confirm that the Russian drones were sent to Poland with the aim of attacking a logistics center in Rzeszow, where Western aid is received before being sent to Ukraine.

"I cannot confirm or deny this, because the drones were shot down. Therefore, you can only extrapolate [assess, draw conclusions - UNIAN] from the reason, and you need to talk to military experts to be sure," Sikorsky said at a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga in Kyiv, an UNIAN correspondent reports from the scene.

The Polish Foreign Minister added that he was aware of the speculation in the press about this, but he was not in a position to confirm or deny it. As Sikorski added, this penetration of Russian drones into Polish and NATO airspace is a moment of truth, as these drones crossed Polish airspace not only from the Ukrainian side, but also from Belarus.

"The air battle lasted seven hours. So, it did not happen by chance. And everyone who says that it was a Ukrainian provocation is the author or a voluntary accomplice of Russian propaganda. We must be very careful not to repeat disinformation, not to help spread fake news. We are sure that these were Russian drones and this was a Russian operation," Sikorsky emphasized.

In turn, as Szybiga added, the Ukrainian side informed the Polish side about drones that were heading into Polish airspace and violated the airspace of this country."The Ukrainian side is ready to continue cooperating in order to confront such challenges together with our fraternal Poland in our common security space and jointly protect our sky," Szybiga said.
