War in Ukraine. Will Kyiv Nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize? There's a Condition

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, ending the war won't be an easy task, but it's a step forward. He also told reporters that if Donald Trump manages to implement the ceasefire plan,"they will nominate him on behalf of Ukraine" for the Nobel Peace Prize.

- If Trump gives the world, and above all the Ukrainian nation, a chance for such a ceasefire, then yes,  he should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize - Zelensky emphasized.

Donald Trump is seeking the Nobel Peace Prize. Experts are skeptical.

Ukraine is not the only country whose leader has stated that he is ready to nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said so in early August. However, the deadline for nominations expired in January of this year.

The President of the United States did not receive the nomination and there are doubts as to whether the prestigious award will actually be granted to him.

" Donald Trump has no chance of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, both for formal reasons and due to lack of merit," said Professor Isak Svensson of Uppsala University, who deals with peace and conflict, in a published analysis.

Nina Graeger, who heads the Peace Research Institute (PRIO) in Oslo, shares a similar view. She believes the actions taken by the American leader"have repeatedly been in blatant contradiction with Alfred Nobel's last will".

Emmanuel Macron, on the other hand, has a slightly different opinion on this matter. A few weeks ago, addressing Trump directly, the French president remarked:"The Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if you stop the conflict in the Gaza Strip."
