Miguel Uribe's Medical Condition

Miguel Uribe Londoño, the father of Miguel Uribe Turbay, took advantage of his son's social media to write a message of gratitude to the hundreds of Colombians who have dedicated a space to pray for the health of the senator from the Democratic Center, victim of a hitman attack this Saturday, June 7, in Fontibón, Bogotá.

“I am Miguel Uribe Londoño, Miguel’s father. In this difficult moment, when my son Miguel is fighting for his life, I want to give thanks. Thank you to those who donated their blood. Thank you to the millions of Colombians and people around the world for their prayers,” the father wrote on social media.

With his struggle, Miguel is showing us that the most important thing in this country is security, because without security, there is nothing. His example inspires us: we must move from outrage to action. Delia and I ask that you continue praying for Miguel's life and that we remain united in a single cause: that Colombia may once again be a safe country and that there may be peace and tranquility for all," she said, her voice breaking.

Miguel Uribe Turbay's family has not left him alone for a moment.

His sister, María Carolima Hoyos, has visited him repeatedly at the Santa Fe Foundation and has also sent him messages through her social networks.

“We are going to overcome this new test together, Miguel. Our mother is by your side, with all the angels, watching over you in that hospital bed. She will not leave your side until the miracle becomes a reality,” she expressed in her publication.

Your entire family is united, on our knees, crying out to God for that miracle that we await with all our souls. We need you, Miguel! For a thousand more reunions as a pack, to sing as always… and to continue celebrating life with love. Strength, Miguel! Strength, my love! Strength, strength, strength!”

Hoyos concluded by asking for prayers for his brother’s speedy recovery: “To all who believe in miracles, I ask that today you pray for my brother. Miguel deserves to live! And we deserve to continue enjoying his love!”

For her part, María Claudia Tarazona, the candidate's wife, also thanked the Colombians who had taken the time to pray and pray for her husband's life.

I want to thank everyone who has joined us to pray for Miguel’s life. I want to thank every Colombian who has been supportive of me, my children, and my family,” she said.

“Miguel continues to fight hard for his life and I ask each of you to continue praying hard, to not give up and to be united in prayer,” he said.

Although Miguel Uribe Turbay continues to fight death, the results of his treatment, according to the Santa Fe Foundation, are not the best. Still, the family is clear that miracles do exist and that hope is the last thing to be lost.
