In his speech at a summit in Qatar, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said,"We must intensify our diplomatic efforts to increase sanctions against Israel, and international legal mechanisms must be used to hold Israeli officials accountable." Erdoğan noted that some Israeli politicians have frequently repeated the "Greater Israel" delusion recently, adding,"Israel's efforts to expand its occupation of neighboring countries are concrete manifestations of this goal. With God's permission, the Islamic world possesses the wisdom and means to thwart Israel's expansionist ambitions."

President Erdoğan attended the Extraordinary Joint Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Speaking at the summit's leadership session, Erdoğan thanked the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for hosting the event. Wishing God's mercy upon the Palestinians and Qatari police martyred in Israel's heinous attack on Qatar and a speedy recovery to the wounded, Erdoğan continued:

"THE LATEST ATTACK HAS TAKEN ISRAEL’S BANDITISM TO A NEW DIMENSION"

Since October 7, 2023, we have held Extraordinary Summits of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League due to the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza. At these summits, we declared to the world that Israel's increasing aggression now poses a threat to our region that must be stopped definitively. We have repeatedly demonstrated that this distorted mentality, fed by terrorism, poses a risk to international stability and security. After Palestine, Israel attacked Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Syria. It targeted civilian ships off the coast of Tunisia. It assassinated elected politicians and statesmen. Now it has attacked the mediator Qatar. The latest attack has taken Israel's banditry to a different level. In this regard, I find it very important and meaningful that we hold today's summit in Doha. I underline that the world public opinion should see this meeting as a manifestation of the Islamic world's unconditional support for Qatar. I hope that the decisions we will make today will once again express this heartfelt sentiment of ours in writing to the world public opinion.

Expressing his satisfaction at Qatar's dignified management of the crisis under the astute and wise leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim, Erdoğan said,"I reiterate that Turkey always stands by our friendly and brotherly ally, Qatar."

WE HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO STOP ISRAEL

"It is now an undeniable fact that the Netanyahu government's main goal is to continue the massacre and genocide in Palestine while at the same time dragging the entire region into instability without discrimination," Erdoğan said, adding:

We are faced with a terrorist mentality that feeds on chaos and bloodshed, and a state that embodies it. This mentality, which openly violates the United Nations Charter and defies international law and the rules-based international system, still survives thanks to the impunity of its crimes. Recently, we have seen some presumptuous Israeli politicians frequently repeating the delusion of"Greater Israel." Israel's efforts to expand its occupation of neighboring countries are concrete manifestations of this goal. By God's permission, the Islamic world possesses the wisdom and means to thwart Israel's expansionist ambitions.

Erdoğan, emphasizing that the loss of balance within Netanyahu's murderous network has now begun to impose costs on his supporters, said:"Those who unconditionally support Israel in the face of reckless attacks on Qatar have also been forced to react. Certainly, the declaration of intention by some countries to recognize the state of Palestine is a positive step. We would have wished this had been done at an earlier stage. However, these steps will have difficulty yielding results unless they are supported by concrete and strong sanctions against Israel. We must intensify our diplomatic efforts to increase sanctions against Israel, and international legal mechanisms must be used to hold Israeli officials accountable to justice."

"WE ARE READY TO SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF DEFENSE"

"We know that Israel will not stop in the short term without a strong response and sanctions, and will accelerate its policies of occupation and instability," Erdoğan said, continuing:

We are aware that we have the resources to prevent this. It is now essential that we reach a level of self-sufficiency in certain areas. Chief among these is a deterrent defense industry and development. I want you to know that we are ready to share our capabilities and experience with you, our brothers and sisters. I believe we must intensify our cooperation in these areas now to win the coming decades.

President Erdoğan stated that he believes Israel needs to be squeezed economically, saying,"Previous experiences show that such steps yield results. As Turkey, we have halted all commercial transactions with Israel for the past year and a half. Thus, we have lost $9.5 billion annually."

Erdoğan emphasized the importance of supporting the genocide case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice, stating:"Similarly, we must be able to implement concrete steps and mechanisms that will ensure the security of the region by working together. I believe that there are things that can be done within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on this issue. We will continue our struggle with determination until a Palestinian state, with geographical integrity based on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, comes into being. We cannot accept deportation, genocide, or division in this sacred cause. I hope that the summit and the decisions we will make will lead to additional steps being taken to stop the Israeli threat, and that the results of our meeting will be followed to the letter."

Also present at President Erdoğan’s contacts within the scope of the Extraordinary Joint Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League were Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Director of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) İbrahim Kalın, Director of Presidential Communications Burhanettin Duran, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attended the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation-Arab League Extraordinary Summit and maintained diplomatic contacts, met with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also attended the summit.

Erdoğan then received Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
