US President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump said in press statements,"I canceled my meeting with Putin because I felt there was no possible outcome. I felt the time was right to impose sanctions on Russia."

"It wasn't right to have a meeting with Putin, so we canceled it," he added, adding,"Putin and Zelenskyy are looking for peace, and it's time to end this war."

The US President noted,"Every time I speak to Putin, the conversation is good and nothing changes."

The White House announced a few days ago that Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his American counterpart Donald Trump on "achieving peace in the Middle East," during a phone call between the two leaders that lasted more than two hours.
