Efforts continue to control the forest fire that broke out in the commune of Derdara, in Chefchaouen province. Response teams have managed to control three of the four major fires.
The affected area is currently estimated at approximately 500 hectares of forested area, in addition to some neighboring fields. Nearly 450 personnel from various teams have been mobilized, as well as modern resources, equipment, machinery, and technical means, including four Canadair water bombers and four Turbo Thrush aircraft, to contribute to the extinguishing efforts.

Firefighting teams are facing significant challenges on the ground, due to strong winds and rugged terrain, which are complicating ground operations and delaying access to some burning areas. Despite this, they are continuing their efforts to extinguish the remaining fires.
During these operations, two members of the Civil Protection Service were injured. One suffered facial burns and the other a broken leg. They were rushed to hospital for necessary treatment.
